Back in Action

Heyy guys,

I've been a bit AWOL for the past few months. Been dealing with a few personal issues but all is better now.

Aaron has been trying to get me back into blogging as something to spend my days off work doing. So here I am again.

I want to write about things that make me happy and things that I think other people would like. So that could well mean really random topics (apologies in advance)

Just a short post today to keep you up to date.

Health and Fitness Tips for Busy People

Today's blog will for the busy bees of the world. How will you fit things in when your always working? How do you make sure you eat healthy at work without binging on things throughout the day?

I work a 9-5 job so these questions relate to me quite a lot. It is so easy to by some snacks for your draw - I do it all the time. But try to refrain from doing this where possible. Go to the shops and grab some dried fruit or healthy crisps (yes they do exist). A good place for this sort of things is a Health Food store like Holland and Barratt. Then just stock up. I have recently found a love for Thin Crackers with seeds on then. I'm odd so I dip these in Ketchup and they are yummy - but make sure to get the low aft Ketchup.

Soup is a good thing to eat for lunch at work as it is light and means you can eat more filling snacks throughout the day - you feel like your still eating all day when in reality your aren't.

Try and drink lots of water throughout the day as it tricks your body into thinking you are full from the water and you aren't as hungry throughout the day.

Something I like to do that incorporates exercise into my day is to do 20 squats every time I go to the loo. It only takes a couple of minutes but if you do this each time you take a trip , then it builds in a good 100 a day ( depending on how much you pee).

Being too strict on myself hasn't worked for me. It just makes me want to eat more crap during the day. So now I let myself eat a Kit Kat if I want one, it just means I need to do some more exercise when I get home or eat less lunch or something like that in order for it work properly in my favour.

A tip that I have found is to prepare my lunch the night before to take into work. This way, I am not tempted to go the shops during my lunch break and get a Maccies or a Microwave Meal.

I hope these tips and tricks will help you.

10 Things I Have Learnt from Films

With the amount of films I have watched, I felt it only necessary to share what I have learnt from films over the years.

#1 A doctor is not a doctor unless he has a stethoscope around his neck.

#2 You will always fall over when running away from something in the dark.

#3 The more a man and woman hate each other, the more they fall in love.

#4 When you've been in a serious accident and your in hospital, you have time to do your make up, your mascara still looks perfectly in place and your lipstick does not smudge.

#5 A single match can light up a whole room.

#6 When asking for the Bill in a restaurant, the only things to do is wave you arms in the air and shout CHEQUE!

#7 Follow that car is a saying that normal people cannot use when following someone.

#8 A celebrity will always show up at your school prom no matter how secluded the town is.

#9 Bombs always come with a bright red screen counting down until detonation and are very obvious.

#10 All love stories end up okay and no ever gets hurt in the end.

All of these are pretty false in respect of real life situations when thinking about it.

Mac Lipstick Collection

Today's post is going to be about my MAC lipstick Collection. As you will tell, I don't have that many as I tend to stick with the same shade lipstick each day. But never the less here they are.

As you can see, I tend to stick with pinks and nudes with my lipsticks and only have a few reds or purples. I just feel that they suit me better so invest more in them.

1. Honeylove - This is a beautiful shade of nude and is by far my most worn lipstick out of any of the ones I own. It suits pale skin very well as it is a very cool brown toned nude. It's very easy to wear with bold eyes or very simplistic eyes. I use this with the lip liner Spice. The Liner is slightly darker so gives your lips the illusion that they are slightly bigger, which is always good.

2. Chatterbox - More of a pink shade lipstick but isn't too bright. I like wearing this one when I wear black outfits as it really stands out then. Its also a great day to night lipstick and can change how your makeup looks with a different shade of lippy.

3. Pretty Please - I actually brought this lipstick by accident. The one I wanted was called Please Me but got it confused with Pretty Please. I feel that this is a quite a day time lipstick and is great for work or if you are just popping down the shop as it doesn't really stand out.

4. Please Me - This is the most beautiful pale pink lipstick and goes so well with all outfits. This is another lippy that I wear a lot of the time as its so complimentary to my skin tone. I use the lip liner Rosy Rim with this lipstick.

5. Speak Louder - As the name of this lipstick suggests, it's quiet bold! More of a night time lipstick I feel but is very beautiful. It makes any outfit look sophisticated and gives your makeup a pop of colour.

6. A Novel Romance - This was the first MAC Lipstick that I brought. Something nice and understated. Its very sheer so is a good look for a very neutral make up look. I tend to wear this lippy when I'm chilling at home or at work.

So that is my MAC Lipstick Collection and a little something about each one.

World Cancer Day

Today's post is more on the serious side of things. As im sure most of you will be aware, today, February 4th 2016, is World Cancer Day!

The Background

World Cancer Day is a day where everyone from around the globe comes together to raise money and awareness for Cancer. It aims to prevent millions of deaths each year by educating people about the illness and pressing the government and individuals to take actions and not to ignore this problem.

Around 8.2 million people worldwide die every year from Cancer. $ million of these people are aged 30-69.

The tagline "We Can,I Can" is being used. World Cancer Day is a chance to reflect and take action with Cancer.

How You Can Help

There are many ways that you can help out and show your support. On the World Cancer Day website you can register what activity you would like to do and put it on their live action map. This shows everything that happens for the cause all over the world.

You don't even need to donate any money. Why not post something on your social media accounts to show your support and to raise awareness.

Or you can grab one of the Unity Bands. These bands link together 2 colours to represent unity across the globe and us all coming together to challenge Cancer. They have the bands in white and pink, navy and white and pale blue and white. But you can mix and match whatever colour you like from these combinations. I have the pink and white one.

This is very close to my heart, so if you can't donate then please show your support in another way.

However, if you would like to donate, the link is below.

My Morning Routine

Heellloooo, I'm sure as you can guess from the title, that today's post is going to be about my morning routine!

I work full time so I don't really have that much time in the morning to mess around. I have to get up and get out of the door.

I set my alarm for 5.45 each morning and just use the standard alarm on my Iphone. I tend to get up within a few seconds of it going off as I hate hitting snooze - I'll be in bed all day if I do...

The first things that I do is go into the bathroom ( which is conveniently right next to my room), have a wee, brush my teeth and wash my face. At the moment in the mornings, I like to use a Superdrug Face scrub to remove all the impurities from my skins that have built up over night. I then pop in my contact lenses and go back into my room to get ready.

Finding what I'm going to wear that day is the next thing. During the weekday's I go for either leggings and a smartish top or a dress and some tights.

Then its time for my makeup and to brush my hair. I will be doing another post on my everyday makeup routine which will be coming soon, so if you want to see that then keep your eyes peeled.

The majority of the time I get my lunch ready the day before to save time so that I can just go downstairs and grab it out the fridge. whilst downstairs I'll get some juice out of the fridge and maybe some breakfast (depending on how hungry I am is whether or not I eat it at work or before I leave).

All I do then is lock up the house and hop in my car and drive to work to begin my day.

And that is pretty much what I do every morning.

The Beauty Blogger Tag

Heeellloooo :)

I found this tag on the internet some time ago and thought I'd give it a go. :)

1. Is your hair naturally or straight?

My hair doesn't really do a lot the majority of the time. If I don't blow dry it and just leave it to dry naturally then it is quite thick and relatively straight. Moat of the time I just let it do its own thing but if I want it to be sleeker then I'll blow dry it.

2. Do you dye your hair or go to the salon?

Until very recently, I have always used a box die from a drug store, but then I had a horrific experience where my hair went bright orange so now I go to the salon and get it done. I would recommend doing this for anyone who does their hair a lot. the dyes that salons use are a lot better for your hair so it is less likely to fall out.

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

I'm guessing we are still on about hair here so I'll talk about that. It's very rare that I will use heat other than a hair dryer on my hair. I tend to French braid it some of the time to get it out of my face (see picture), or I will have it down or just shove it in a big bun on the top of my head. I take more care with my makeup than I do with my hair.

4. Do you do your own mani-pedi or go to a salon?

I'll paint my nails myself as I don't see the point in paying someone else to, but if I have false nails on then ill go to a salon as I can't use the ones from the drug stores. And they always look better if someone else does them for you.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?

The nail polish I currently have on has been there for about 3 weeks and is showing very little sings of existence (its a very light colour so it doesn't  really bother me). If I use a dark colour then ill change it as soon as it chips.

6.  Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?

My toe nails are always painted. I hate them so am always covering them up no matter what time of the year it is.

7. how long does it take for you to put on your makeup?

About 30 minutes for just everyday makeup, but if I'm going out the about 45 minutes.

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

Face. Every time. If I mess my eyes up I'll just do my concealer under my eyes again. I have such a specific routine with my eyes so that doesn't really happen.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

If you know me well then you will be aware of the makeup situation with me. I collect it and love it so much. I own way to much of it but its something that I enjoy so I will continue with it.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

Never. I just can't do them. I haven't found a glue that works on my eyes, so I end up pulling them off half way through the night as they start peeling off anyway. I've tried all the recommended ones but can't seem to gel with any of them.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

Yes! I have scars all over my face from my acne when I was younger so cover it all up :)

12. Do you wear makeup when you're at home alone or with your family?

It depends what I'm doing and how I feel. If I'm not very well then its rare that I will wear foundation - just mascara. But I'll always wear something, I feel so poop without it!

13. Will you leave the house without it?

Yeah, of course I will. I'll feel more self-conscious without it. But if I'm just popping to the shop or I'm not well then what's the point.

14. How many high-end products do you have?

I have actually counted them, but I'd say I have about the same amount as drug store makeup. I like to spend a little more on my makeup to try out the recommended products and expand my collection but its definably not all high end or drugstore. I'd say about 50/50

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?

Most of the time I do it the morning I'm getting dressed, but if I'm in a super organised mood then ill lay it out the day before. I'd forget to do it every night.

16. How often do you change your handbag?

Not very often at all. I have 2 bags that I regularly use. The Fiorelli Nikki Tote Tan bag and the Michael Kors Selma Large Zip Satchel in Black. I just tend to switch depending on what I'm doing or what I'm wearing.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

I wake up at 5.45 each morning for work so try to get to bed before 10 each night o give me enough sleep. I'm super grumpy without it so it's sort of crucial with me.

18. How often or when do you work out?

I do a quick youTube workout most days when I get home from work and very rarely go to the gym (I'm embarrassed) but try to do something each day.

19. Are you right or left handed?

20. How tall are you?

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?

I can speak a little of Spanish.

22. How many pets do you have?

I have a cat called Tasha - I call her Princess, but she now lives a few doors down. There is another cat is my house but she isn't mine.

23. How often are you on blogger?

I post blogs at least once a week but check it everyday to read other peoples blogs.

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

Of course who doesn't!

25.  Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

Yes! Recommendations is the reason for my collection expanding! I always like to see what other people are loving and give them a go myself.

26. how did you come up with your blog name?

I was thinking of how to finish my posts and then it sort of stuck as my blog name. It used to be my full name but I changed it to With Love From Jess.

27. what kind of camera do you use to take photos?

I just use my Iphone. I have the 6Plus so the quality is decent. I'm looking to get the Olympus Pen though in white.

28. How often do you clean your house?

I live with my parents but I don't clean my room very often. It's currently a tip and I really need to do it!

29. What's your favourite colour?

30. Do you swear?

Some of the time yes, but I feel like everyone does.

31. what are you doing with the rest for your day?

I am working and then going for a meal this evening with my Grandma.

That was a long tag! I hope you've all found out something new about me and enjoyed reading.

Lush Goodies

Todays post is about some of the goodies that I have previously purchased from Lush. If you live under a rock and don't know what Lush is, then Lush is a handmade cosmetics company who are highly against animal cruelty. They sell all sorts of things from makeup to baths bombs to shampoo bars. this is really great for as I'm not that much of a fan a bubble baths (although sometimes they are nice) so Bath Bombs are a brilliant alternative product for me to use where my bath will still look and smell great.

Here are some of the products that I have been loving:

The Experimenter - £3.95

This by far the most colourful craziest bath bomb that has ever existed. It is a blue, pink, gold and white hexhedron that's smells like Vanilla and Tonka Bean and has popping candy inside it. What more could a girl want! It creates a mass of colour in your bath and if you put in it the right place looks like  colourful horizontal waterfall.

Yoga Bomb - £3.95

A great one to use if you've had a long stressful day. The soothing Sandalwood  and Olibanum Oil sends you into a deep relaxing mood where you can let the world run free. The shades of orange, purple and pale blue with surround you giving the ideal atmosphere to chill out for a while.

You can never have enough bath bombs in your life. I store mine in a wire basket on a white shelving unit that I own and they make my bedroom smell delightful.

Hope you enjoyed this blog.

4. Wait for this to get thick and of a porridge consistency

Chicken and Vegetable Pasta

This is sort of a mix between a mild curry and a pasta sauce dish.

How I Motivate Myself

After starting my healthy kick and lifestyle change, I have found that something's motivate me more than others. It's difficult to get up out of bed everyday and eat healthy throughout so here are some tips and tricks that I have learnt to help you get through it.

1. Don't hit snooze....Now I know that all of us just want that little bit extra sleep and to hit that convenient little button, but don't. It will make you more tired as your body thinks your going down for more than 3 minutes so goes back into a deep sleep and waking up in the middle of that isn't good. So refrain from the button!

2. Drinking Water. There are so many myths, facts and studies about how much good water do four your body, and if I'm honest I didn't really believe it all. But it does work. Having a glass of water when I wake up and several throughout the day have done my skin and overall health so much good. My skin feels softer and I feel more awake in general.... which leads me onto my next point.

3. Get lots of sleep. Another one of the clique tips I know. I get up very early in the morning for my job and for me not to be a moody cow in the morning, I need to get a whole lot of sleep. I've found that it makes getting up in the mornings so much easier as well (which is always nice).

4. Give yourself 'you time'. This links in with the sleep as well. Before I go to bed I like to have some time to myself and rewind. This could involve going through social media, having a nice hot bath or doing some yoga. Just having that half an hour makes all the difference with me.

5. Do some sort of exercise as often as possible. Hard done than said I realise. I hate doing exercise or working out more than the next person but in order to keep fit and healthy it needs to be done. I have found that doing exercise at home is a lot better for me than going to the gym and doing it. Plus there's no embarrassment if you bump into someone that you know at the gym. I like doing some yoga as its so relaxing. Something else that I am loving at the moment is using custom workout apps on my phone. There's no pressure and you can do it at your own pace.

6. Write Lists. My favourite one in it's own list! who doesn't like the feeling of ticking something off a list of things to do for the day. It's so satisfying and helps to motivate you get through your day. Most days I will have at least one list for and no they aren't always completed every day but you know what to start with the next day.

7. do things that make you happy. This is very important. Why would you do something in life if you don't enjoy it. Again another clique here but life is too short to not be happy. find something that you love to do and stick to it. It will make things you do and the day go a lot quicker and you will have a lot more fun with them.

8. Have a schedule. Much like having a list, come up with an order of doing things throughout the day. Whether this be during the night time or in the morning or at your workplace. create a routine to follow each day.

So there are my tips for keeping motivated and what I have found help me the most. I hope you find they help you too :)

Happy New Year!

It's been a while since I last posted and thought this was the perfect first post of the year.

First of all I hope you all had a great Christmas and an exciting New Year.

A new life came into my family which was very exciting. She's so gorgeous and has brought plenty of smiles around for us all. I now have very pale blonde/silver hair. My make-up collection is still expanding and I will writing a post on my collection, but I'm in the middle of getting the organisation of it perfect, so that will be holding fire for just a little longer.

The main thing that I want to talk about today is New Years Resolutions. Every year people say that they will have these so they can try and be a better person throughout the year - and just like everyone else, it fails to continue all year.

This year Aaron and I are looking to become fitter and healthier together. For me this feels like it will be easier than doing it on my own as I have someone to do it with. We have vowed to go to the gym or do some sort of exercise twice a week. Something that I struggle with is sticking to these resolutions. So we came up with a solution for this - create a punishment if we don't do it one week. This needs to be something horrible that will hopefully stop us from skipping gym sessions. We came up with having a teaspoons of cinnamon and a teaspoon of flour every time we skip a session. Neither of us have done the cinnamon challenge and don't really want to so fingers cross this will work.

I am going to the gym tonight and am preparing to die. My theory is if I get the first one done sooner rather than later the easier it will be to keep going.

My other resolution is not to hit the snooze button on my alarm. With my job I tend to get up pretty early. If I'm constantly hitting the snooze button then I finish later and who wants that. so to combat this I shall be hopefully getting up when I set my alarm for and getting to work nice and early.

Then I also have the standard stuff that I feel most people have:
  1. read more
  2. drink more water
  3. be happier
  4. cut back on spending
  5. spend more time with the ones I love
  6. cherish every moment you have - never know when your gonna go....
There are lots of other exciting things that will be happening this year that I will be posting about throughout. But below is a quick overview of what I'm looking forward to:
  1. Mine and Aarons's Anniversary
  2. Birthdays
  3. Weekends Away
  4. Getting our first house and buying things for it :)
Hope you guys are as excited for 2016 as I am.
