Lush Goodies

Todays post is about some of the goodies that I have previously purchased from Lush. If you live under a rock and don't know what Lush is, then Lush is a handmade cosmetics company who are highly against animal cruelty. They sell all sorts of things from makeup to baths bombs to shampoo bars. this is really great for as I'm not that much of a fan a bubble baths (although sometimes they are nice) so Bath Bombs are a brilliant alternative product for me to use where my bath will still look and smell great.



Here are some of the products that I have been loving:


The Experimenter - £3.95


This by far the most colourful craziest bath bomb that has ever existed. It is a blue, pink, gold and white hexhedron that's smells like Vanilla and Tonka Bean and has popping candy inside it. What more could a girl want! It creates a mass of colour in your bath and if you put in it the right place looks like  colourful horizontal waterfall.


Yoga Bomb - £3.95

A great one to use if you've had a long stressful day. The soothing Sandalwood  and Olibanum Oil sends you into a deep relaxing mood where you can let the world run free. The shades of orange, purple and pale blue with surround you giving the ideal atmosphere to chill out for a while.



You can never have enough bath bombs in your life. I store mine in a wire basket on a white shelving unit that I own and they make my bedroom smell delightful.

My Health Kick Starts Here

My healthy kick has started, so here are some of the foods I've been eaten and recipes I've been coming up with. Hope you enjoy :)


 Cinnamon and Date Porridge

Nice and easy recipe for if you don't have much time in the morning.

You will need:
1 cup of porridge
1 cup of milk
a handful of dates
cinnamon
coconut flakes

1. Put a cup of porridge in a saucepan and a cup of milk in with it.
2. Chop up some dates into about 4 (per date) and put to one side
3. Whilst the porridge is heating up on the stove, add in some coconut flakes into the mixture.
4. Wait for this to get thick and of a porridge consistency
5. pour into a bowl and add your dates on top
6. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the dates and porridge
7. Enjoy


Chicken and Vegetable Pasta


This is sort of a mix between a mild curry and a pasta sauce dish.
 What you need:

Bag of Spinach
Large handful of mushrooms
Large handful of Broccoli
Some chicken strips
Cherry Tomatoes
Tomato and Mascarpone Sauce
Pasta

Method:

1. Chop up the mushrooms, tomatoes, and broccoli.
2. put the spinach in a blend to create a paste type consistency
3. Put the pasta and broccoli into a saucepan to boil
4. Put the chicken strips, tomatoes and mushrooms into a frying pan with some coconut oil
5. when the chicken and other ingredients have nearly finished frying, add the pasta sauce into pan as well as the spinach.
6. drain the pasta and the broccoli and pasta and put onto a plate
7. pour the chicken and sauce over the top and enjoy

these recipes are quick and easy to make and super yummy as well.

How I Motivate Myself

Heeelllooooo,


After starting my healthy kick and lifestyle change, I have found that something's motivate me more than others. It's difficult to get up out of bed everyday and eat healthy throughout so here are some tips and tricks that I have learnt to help you get through it.


1. Don't hit snooze....Now I know that all of us just want that little bit extra sleep and to hit that convenient little button, but don't. It will make you more tired as your body thinks your going down for more than 3 minutes so goes back into a deep sleep and waking up in the middle of that isn't good. So refrain from the button!


2. Drinking Water. There are so many myths, facts and studies about how much good water do four your body, and if I'm honest I didn't really believe it all. But it does work. Having a glass of water when I wake up and several throughout the day have done my skin and overall health so much good. My skin feels softer and I feel more awake in general.... which leads me onto my next point.


3. Get lots of sleep. Another one of the clique tips I know. I get up very early in the morning for my job and for me not to be a moody cow in the morning, I need to get a whole lot of sleep. I've found that it makes getting up in the mornings so much easier as well (which is always nice).


4. Give yourself 'you time'. This links in with the sleep as well. Before I go to bed I like to have some time to myself and rewind. This could involve going through social media, having a nice hot bath or doing some yoga. Just having that half an hour makes all the difference with me.


5. Do some sort of exercise as often as possible. Hard done than said I realise. I hate doing exercise or working out more than the next person but in order to keep fit and healthy it needs to be done. I have found that doing exercise at home is a lot better for me than going to the gym and doing it. Plus there's no embarrassment if you bump into someone that you know at the gym. I like doing some yoga as its so relaxing. Something else that I am loving at the moment is using custom workout apps on my phone. There's no pressure and you can do it at your own pace.


6. Write Lists. My favourite one in it's own list! who doesn't like the feeling of ticking something off a list of things to do for the day. It's so satisfying and helps to motivate you get through your day. Most days I will have at least one list for and no they aren't always completed every day but you know what to start with the next day.


7. do things that make you happy. This is very important. Why would you do something in life if you don't enjoy it. Again another clique here but life is too short to not be happy. find something that you love to do and stick to it. It will make things you do and the day go a lot quicker and you will have a lot more fun with them.


8. Have a schedule. Much like having a list, come up with an order of doing things throughout the day. Whether this be during the night time or in the morning or at your workplace. create a routine to follow each day.


So there are my tips for keeping motivated and what I have found help me the most. I hope you find they help you too :)

Happy New Year!

Heeellooooo


It's been a while since I last posted and thought this was the perfect first post of the year.


First of all I hope you all had a great Christmas and an exciting New Year.


A new life came into my family which was very exciting. She's so gorgeous and has brought plenty of smiles around for us all. I now have very pale blonde/silver hair. My make-up collection is still expanding and I will writing a post on my collection, but I'm in the middle of getting the organisation of it perfect, so that will be holding fire for just a little longer.

The main thing that I want to talk about today is New Years Resolutions. Every year people say that they will have these so they can try and be a better person throughout the year - and just like everyone else, it fails to continue all year.

This year Aaron and I are looking to become fitter and healthier together. For me this feels like it will be easier than doing it on my own as I have someone to do it with. We have vowed to go to the gym or do some sort of exercise twice a week. Something that I struggle with is sticking to these resolutions. So we came up with a solution for this - create a punishment if we don't do it one week. This needs to be something horrible that will hopefully stop us from skipping gym sessions. We came up with having a teaspoons of cinnamon and a teaspoon of flour every time we skip a session. Neither of us have done the cinnamon challenge and don't really want to so fingers cross this will work.

I am going to the gym tonight and am preparing to die. My theory is if I get the first one done sooner rather than later the easier it will be to keep going.

My other resolution is not to hit the snooze button on my alarm. With my job I tend to get up pretty early. If I'm constantly hitting the snooze button then I finish later and who wants that. so to combat this I shall be hopefully getting up when I set my alarm for and getting to work nice and early.


Then I also have the standard stuff that I feel most people have:
  1. read more
  2. drink more water
  3. be happier
  4. cut back on spending
  5. spend more time with the ones I love
  6. cherish every moment you have - never know when your gonna go....
There are lots of other exciting things that will be happening this year that I will be posting about throughout. But below is a quick overview of what I'm looking forward to:
  1. Mine and Aarons's Anniversary
  2. Birthdays
  3. Weekends Away
  4. Getting our first house and buying things for it :)
